Good luck with this beast of an excerpt. This is really in a sort of 35/8 poly-meter where 5/8 and 7/8 are layered on top of each other. Try these with a metronome set to 7/8, just outlining the clave. Start slow and work your way up. You can even try playing the 7/8 material with a metronome set to 5/8 that outlines that clave! It will all line up.
